Pro Stars Cartoon: Wholesome Corny Goodness

May 2008

Wow, I just caught this Saturday morning cartoon intro for a show that apparently featured super-hero versions of Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, and Bo Jackson (?).  I’d have to imagine that this got thrown together at the height of Nike’s marketing campaign for Bo, because I don’t recall him having a very remarkable career in either Football or Baseball.

Really amusing stuff, as these three superstars of the 80’s and 90’s battle crime using their remarkable athletic abilities (coupled with some rocket boosters) to stop evil villains in their tracks.  Alright, the premise is pretty corny, but is worshiping a sponge wearing square pants any more reasonable?

GI Joe Movie – Snake Eyes First Look

May 2008

Snake Eyes GI Joe Movie

Here’s a first glimpse of Snake Eyes in the upcoming (2009) GI Joe movie that is currently in filming.  Playing the part of one of my favorite bad ass childhood heroes is Ray Park, whom most of us recall in his role as Darth Maul from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

More GI Joe movie pics and info coming as it becomes available.

Rob Zombie’s New “Halloween” Trailer!

Aug 2007

I’m generally very negative about remakes of movie classics. But in the case of the new Halloween, I’m thinking Rob Zombie is twisted enough to actually put something interesting on screen.

From the looks of this trailer, Bobby Zombie (as good friends call him) keeps the mask like it was and most importantly, the music intact. Of course replacing Jaimee Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasance is no simple task, but I’m not going to make any final judgements until I’ve seen this flick.

Original Spider-man Theme Song

Aug 2007

I just saw this video of the opening titles to the old school Spider-man cartoon and had to post it. It must’ve been at least twenty years since I sang along to this as a kid and it reminds me of happier times. God I sound like an old man… anyways enjoy!
