New Animated Batman Movie: Gotham Knight

Jun 2008
Batman Gotham Knight

Batman Gotham Knight

Wizard Universe just issued a press release acknowledging that they will have the fortune of premiering the new upcoming Batman animated movie, Batman Gotham Knight, at their Wizard World Chicago conference in June.

For those that aren’t “in the know,” Warner Brothers is releasing a new animated movie bridging the gap between the last Batman Begins movie, and the upcoming Batman Dark Knight flick. Animation appears to be based on Japanese Anime stylings, which should be a nice change of pace from their older animated iterations.

The movie will premier on the evening of June 28th for those in the Chicago area that plan on attending the show.  Unfortunately, your pals at FavoriteHero.com are currently attending the Philadelphia Wizard World and probably won’t be able to make the trip to Chi-town later this month.

Check out the full press release for more details and check back at FH for the latest news.

Batmobile 4 Sale: Rockets Not Included

May 2008

Batmobile 4 Sale

Our friends at Gizmodo caught wind of one of the classic Batmobiles from Tim Burton’s Batman movies is going on sale on eBay (what else). Coming in a just under 20 ft long, 8 ft wide, and about 3 inches off the ground, this bad boy might be more suited for showroom rather than driving the kids to soccer practice.

We looked this up on eBay, but were only able to find a bunch of Batmobile Hotwheels toys. I guess eBay realizes that our past transactions only qualifies us for the 99 cent childrens toys.

New Batman Dark Knight Trailer – HD

May 2008

For those that haven’t caught the new Batman: The Dark Knight movie trailer during the Iron Man movie previews last week, here’s a sneak peek into the upcoming flick. I think Heath Ledger looks like a great Joker in these clips, as he pulls off the dark and twisted side of the Joker very well.

And if you look closely, you’ll even notice an homage to the original Tim Burton Batman flick from almost 20 years ago (OMG, has it been that long?). Anyways I hope this short clip tides you guys over until this bad boy released on July 18th. If not, stayed tuned to FavoriteHero for more updates.

Actor Playing New Joker Found Dead

Jan 2008

Heath Ledger Joker

Heath Ledger, the actor playing the Joker in the upcoming Batman movie, was found dead in his New York apartment from what appeared to be an unintentional overdose of prescription medication. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of this very talented actor who passed well before his time.

New Batman Dark Knight Trailer

Sep 2007

For those of you that haven’t seen it, here is the first movie trailer for the upcoming Batman movie, The Dark Knight. There aren’t any new visual shots from the movie, but there are some sound bites that should give you a nice taste of what’s to come. For more info from the movie, check out our other news items from the upcoming movie.

Also, for the fans of the original Tim Burton movies, I digged up the very first trailer from that classic.

Awesome Batman Lego Movie

Jun 2007

Check out this hella cool Batman Lego flick, as the Caped Crusader does his best to outwit the Riddler and his henchmen. There is no dialogue, but the music is definitely by Danny Elfman, who did the score for the original Tim Burton Batman movies. If you dig it, why don’t you check out these Batman Lego sets and start filming your own Batman adventure!

Batman’s New Squeeze

Jun 2007

Maggie GyllenhaalKatie Holmes

For those that haven’t yet heard, Katie Holmes will not be reprising her role as Rachel Dawes in the upcoming Batman movie. She stated scheduling issues coinciding with her other movie projects (and the ever possible return of Xenu) has led Mrs. Cruise… er Holmes to decline the return role. Instead Batman fans will be treated to, in my opinion, a much better leading actress in one Maggie Gyllenhaal (whom I look forward to marrying, if only to make the spelling of her last name a reasonable task).

Here are some pics of Maggie G while on set of the new Batman flick, due out in the Summer of 2008.

Batman drinks 2%

Jun 2007

Here is an amusing movie of what it might be like if the caped crusader decided to stop by the local grocery store in his full accoutrement. I can’t believe I just used the word accoutrement.

Batman’s New Bike

Jun 2007

batbikebatpod001.jpg

Here’s a video taken from the Today Show, showing Meredith Viera “straddling” the new BatBike from the upcoming Batman movie. Personally, I think it looks like a reject from the upcoming Transformers movie, but at least it doesn’t have streamers.

Batman’s New Threads

Jun 2007

balebatmandarkknight.jpg

Here’s a fresh pic of the Dark Knight comin’ at ya from our friends at Gizmodo. Looks like the Bats is moving away from the organic look, and going more towards the super armored/synthetic look. Let’s just hope that he doesn’t start sprouting up antennas on his forehead or anything. But in all, probably a good trend because look ma, no nips!
