New James Bond Poster – Quantum of Solace

Feb 2008

james bond

Looks like Bond is back, in what figures to be a direct sequel to Casino Royal. Taking place just moments following the end of the last James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace looks to continue the theme of James Bond still learning the ropes and finding his way to the vodka martini (shaken not stirred).

Personally, I was a big fan of how the last movie ended, so picking things up right where they ended is a big plus for me. “He had his heart broken at the end of the last movie and that certainly is a spur for him in this one” stated Daniel Craig, who will reprise his role as 007 himself.

Thanks for the link Cava.

Bullet Proof Baby Stroller

Sep 2007

Bullet Proof Baby Stroller

Remember how Batman’s car in the first Tim Burton movie went into “armored” mode? That’s kinda what this crazy baby stroller from BulletProofBaby reminds me of.

Supposedly featured in the upcoming movie Shoot ‘Em Up, this baby carriage for super-paranoid-parents-with-too-much-money is worth checking out.

Especially the demo movie on the homepage that makes you wonder if these people should be locked up.

New Batman Dark Knight Trailer

Sep 2007

For those of you that haven’t seen it, here is the first movie trailer for the upcoming Batman movie, The Dark Knight. There aren’t any new visual shots from the movie, but there are some sound bites that should give you a nice taste of what’s to come. For more info from the movie, check out our other news items from the upcoming movie.

Also, for the fans of the original Tim Burton movies, I digged up the very first trailer from that classic.

The New Hulk Looks Like… Jose Conseco???

Aug 2007

The most recent ComicCon had a short video showing off the look of the new Hulk movie, starring Edward Norton Jr. And yes, he does look a little bit like that steroid abuser/whistle-blower Jose Conseco. Without the slugging average of course.

Rob Zombie’s New “Halloween” Trailer!

Aug 2007

I’m generally very negative about remakes of movie classics. But in the case of the new Halloween, I’m thinking Rob Zombie is twisted enough to actually put something interesting on screen.

From the looks of this trailer, Bobby Zombie (as good friends call him) keeps the mask like it was and most importantly, the music intact. Of course replacing Jaimee Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasance is no simple task, but I’m not going to make any final judgements until I’ve seen this flick.

Official Beowulf Trailer

Aug 2007

For those that haven’t heard, there is a new Beowulf movie coming out later this year starring Angelina Jolie and Anthony Hopkins. We’ve got the first official trailer from the upcoming movie, but if you want more you can always check out their official movie site.

After you’ve seen the movie you’re gonna be amazed by the fact that NONE of it is live action, but fully rendered CGI. It’ll would be nice to see a good CGI movie that isn’t based on a bunch of toys or furry little creatures.

Stay tuned for more updated news about this upcoming Beowulf movie.

New Iron Man Costume Revealed

Aug 2007

At the recent San Diego Comic-Con, John Favreau (director) and Robet Downey Jr (Iron Man) unveiled the “Mark I” costume which is set to appear in their upcoming Iron Man movie. Take notice that the “Mark I” outfit is actually the first metallic grey costume that Iron Man uses and not the orange and red version that we’re generally more used to.

Either way, it’s a pretty sweet glimpse that are looking forward to the movie, and I’m sure there’ll be more to come as we get closer to the launch of the movie. For some movie shots and information, check out our previous post. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters next year.

Cloverfield [1-18-08]- The Best Week Ever (VH1)

Aug 2007

Here is just a little spot from VH1 on the WTF Movie for ’08. It just gives you an overview of nothing about the movie, but at least it’s funny.Stay tuned because I am working on a Cloverfield (1-18-08) series of the info I have been accumulating.

New Bourne Ultimatum Trailer

Jul 2007

Here’s the latest trailer for the upcoming “Bourne Ultimatum,” the third installment of the Jason Bourne trilogy. This one’s an interesting trailer, because at some point he admits that he “remembers everything,” referring to the amnesia he experienced during the first two installments.

New Rambo Pics

Jul 2007

rambo

Here are some updated pics of Sylvester Stallone, as he films his latest Rambo movie (sounds so weird saying that… what decade am I in?) The premise of the story is that the military needs John Rambo to find a group of Christian missionaries that are lost in Burma. With all the military resources tied up in Iraq, I guess the army needs all the help they can get. Maybe they can go get Sgt. Slaughter next…

Anyways, you can catch the pair of new pics at Filmwad.com

Homer Simpson: Pagan God

Jul 2007

Homer the Pagan God

According to the Sun (the magazine, not the celestial object), a very large outline of Homer Simpson was made next to a pagan outline dating back to the 17th century. Of course, this was purely a publicity stunt to promote the upcoming Simpsons movie, and they claim that the paint will wash it away when it rains.

Definitely an original idea to promote the much anticipated movie, though I don’t know how “family friendly” some of your more conservative viewers are going to take this. But cheers to their advertising agency for a rather creative idea.

Mystery Movie: 1/18/08

Jul 2007

This movie trailer debuted with the new Transformers movie, and there has since been alot of discussion online about what it could possibly be about. We see a series of explosions, and what appears to be the Statue of Liberty being blown to pieces.

Unfortunately their movie website doesn’t offer a whole lot more information for us to sink our teeth into. What we do know, is that this movie is being produced by J.J. Abrams who is best known for his work in Alias, Lost, and Mission Impossible 3.

Not sure if this movie even has any relevance to the content of this website, but considering that alot of stuff seems to blow up, I imagine that there has to be some sort of badass protagonist that we haven’t seen yet. Then again, we could just have Tom Cruise running around with his daughter without any real plot ever developing (see War of the Worlds).

Apple has just released the infamous trailer, so you can now download it for your iPod, see it in fullHD 1080p, or everything in between.

Spider-man 4, 5, and 6

Jul 2007

Spider-man Movie Poster

In case you haven’t heard, Sony Pictures has confirmed that they’ve signed on for three more Spider-man movies. Prior to the recent release of the new Transformers movie, Spider-man 3 held the record for the highest grossing for a new release, making over $149 million it’s opening weekend. So it shouldn’t be that surprising that the movie studios would be more than open to the idea of continuing the Spider-man series beyond the original trilogy.

Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire have expressed interest in reprising their roles in the superhero saga, but only if the script and the right cast were reassembled. The one major piece in making this whole thing happen is whether or not Sam Raimi would be at the reins again, directing and writing as he did in the three previous installments. Raimi has stated that he’s “too tired” to work on any Spider-man related projects anytime in the near future, though did not rule out the possibility of starting back up a couple years later.

Only time will tell. Since the movie only released a couple months ago, we will have to wait a couple years and see if Sony Pictures can keep the same cast together and continue to crank out the same quality pictures that aren’t common nowadays in the superhero biz. (compliments of hollywood.com)

Transformers Box-Office Numbers

Jul 2007

Transformers box office money

So after breaking the 4th of July box-office record set by Spider-man 2 ($29.1 Million), it rumbled through the weekend to make $152.5 Million in the states (and $246.1 Million worldwide). Those numbers easily surpass all of the production and marketing costs associated with the film, which should continue to see a steady stream of ticket sales despite the release of the new Harry Potter movie coming out this Wednesday (July 11th).

Add to that all of the merchandising sales from the movie and the record setting DVD sales that are sure to come, is there any doubt that subsequent sequels are sure to come? Michael Bay seems to think so.

New Transformers Music Video

Jul 2007

This music video is simply BADASS. For those of you who remember the original Transformers theme from the first animated movie, you’ll be delightfully surprised by this rendition from the new movie (performed by Black Lab). I know, you’ve probably never heard of Black Lab, but do you even remember who sang the original? Exactly.

It’s a little less cheezy eighties rock, but similar enough for this to bring back all the great memories of the original. I hope you Transformer fanboys (and girls) enjoy this one as much as I did!

Check back soon for an AMV from the original animated movie, produced by one of the senior editors of FavoriteHero.com.

Remote Controlled Transformers

Jul 2007

Here’s a demonstration video from Japan, featuring a radio controlled transforming robot.  I’m convinced that the Japanese have real life transformers in a hidden army in Mt. Fuji.  And I’m not talking about these cardboard soldiers, I mean the badass mechs that are based on some far out alien technology.

Transformers Movie Already Breaking Records

Jul 2007

Transformers box office money

With all of the buzz surrounding the release of the latest Transformers movie, we can’t say that we’re completely surprised that it’s already setting box office records.

What is surprising is that within 28 hours, Transformers has grossed over $35 million dollars. To put that into perspective, the previous Tuesday record holder was Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. Transformers brought in $27 Mil in one day compared to only $16 Mil by Captain Jack’s second movie last year.

The reviews of the movie has been somewhat mixed so far, but we’ll let you know what we think after we get away from the holiday BBQ’s and into an air-conditioned theater.

New Iron Man Pictures

Jul 2007

Iron Man Movie Poster

Here are some new shots from the upcoming Iron Man movie, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Mr. Iron Man himself. Now if only Iron Man can stay off the sauce, maybe he can help save what could potentially be a terrible movie. Oh yeah, that might not be a bad idea for Mr. Downey either.

More pics after the jump!

Cookie Cutter Body Snatchers Movie – The Invasion

Jun 2007

Don’t get me wrong, I <3 just about all scifi flicks, but this is just uncreative. This is especially true since there was an ABC series that was unfortunately canceled last year with a nearly identical premise and…wait for it…the same name (minus the “the” in the beginning).  Here is the official site for the movie.

I’ll probably still go see it since I am one of them. -ahku
