The first look at the new Mission: Impossible 4 movie, though interestingly enough they aren’t exactly calling it that, instead opting to call this the “Ghost Protocol.”  I will warn you that there may be some spoilers, as they always tend to throw in too much information than they need to in these trailers nowadays.

IP Man

For those that haven’t had the opportunity, I highly recommend you take a chance on IP Man.  It’s the perfect blend of kung fu action, strong characters, and engaging story telling.  Plus it’s a nice break from the over-CG’d movie landscape of the Thor’s and Green Lanterns of the world.

What else would you expect from a biopic of the real life mentor of Bruce Lee?  Catch it now on Netflix streaming or at Amazon.com.

Kevin Costner to Play Jonathan Kent

The Huffington Post has reported that Kevin Costner will be playing Jonathan Kent, the “earthly” father to Clark Kent (AKA Superman) in the upcoming reboot of the movie franchise.

Martha Kent has also been cast to Diane Lane according to recent reports.

Henry Cavill as Superman - Man of Steel

By now I’m sure most have heard about the Superman Reboot that’s in the works with Zach Snyder (director of Watchmen) and Chris Nolan (director of the highly successful Batman movies).

There has also been confirmation that the role of Superman has been cast in  favor of Henry Cavill (known from his roles on the Showtime series The Tudors).

The image above is just an artist rendition of what Mr. Cavill would potentially look like in the red and blue.  You’ll notice that he bares a striking resemblance the Christopher Reeves Superman (in particular his hair).

In an effort to create more buzz for the upcoming launch of Iron Man 2, Paramount Studios has released a number of faux promotional websites that are directly linked to the movie.  Starting with Stark Expo 2010, which appears to be a fictional technology expo featuring the upcoming technologies compliments of Tony Stark (aka Iron Man).

The second site is Accutech, which appears to be a subsidiary of Stark Industries and specializes in the technology that makes Iron Man possible.

Here’s the sad part… These sites actually look legitimate and are probably better designed than the real companies that they are designed to imitate!

Wow, what a great weekend.  Filled with movie stars, famous artists, upcoming game previews and anything else you could want (assuming you have a single nerd bone in your body).

Stars ranging from Billy Dee Williams to Thomas Jayne were in attendance giving photo ops and autographs, while in the artists alley, you can get autographs of prints or even custom Comic covers or artwork drawn on the spot for you.

And what is a comic convention without some Star Wars Dress-up!

Nintendo had one of the larger setups, with various kiosks allowing users to interact with their various Nintendo Wii and DS products.

Linda Hamilton was one of the many Sci-Fi superstars on hand to give out autographs and photo ops. Secretly, I was waiting for the T-1000 to maul dozens of people in the crowd en route to getting Linda's signature.

William Shatner lead the way among many other famous Star Trek cast members (original and recent) to attend the show.

As seems to be the case at all of these shows, previous and current stars of professional wrestling made an appearance. Of course, none with a larger setup than the Nature Boy himself, Ric Flair.

This guy makes an appearance at every show, and always does a fantastic job of creating some huge chalk image usually done by Jim Lee or someone of that calibur. Only sad part is that the images are created, only to be washed away after the show!

Among the many famous artists, was James O'Barr who created the original Crow comic series and was the inspiration for the movies that came afterwards.

Thomas Jane was among the featured guests, and probably drew one of the bigger lines of people waiting for his signature. Unfortunately for fans, Tom was promoting his new show "Hung," instead of donning his Punisher getup.

Not to be left out, these three Cylon Six models were found roaming the show promoting the upcoming DVD releases of Battlestar Galactica.

John Schneider, best known for his characters Jonathan Kent (Smallville) and Bo Duke (Dukes of Hazzard) was another special guest giving out signatures and was actually every bit as nice as the father of Superman and Kansas farmer would be.

With working flux capacitor, this Delorean made many a show fan giddy with excitement as they walked by.

More Delorean goodness. Hey, I don't remember the Doc Brown installing a small LCD in the door!

Now here's a cool piece of history caught on camera. Apparently this pencil sketch is the original Mickey Mouse drawing on the planet. They looked pretty legit and I never knew Walt Disney himself, so I'll take their word for it.

     Just to fill out a little history from memory, just to help understand the trailer.  Big Boss (Snake) was forced to kill his mentor/hero the Boss to help prevent some bad bad stuff (being vague on purpose except for what they show in the trailer, these are the events of MGS3).  Being disillusioned with fighting for a country (the US) Snake takes the time to to save the world and create a group of what is called nomads in the trailer, which is comprised of soldiers that have been abandoned or mistreated by thier respective countries.  Snake being the only person known for his combat prowess and being an overall hero leads these men into lives untethered by their home countries (MGS portable ops).   This pretty much brings you to the events of the trailer with Snake and his band, fighting for what they believe in, not what their countries tell them too, which if anyone knows MGS history leads to the very first game and its story of Outer Haven. 

Ive left out a lot of the story and the good details, but all the hardcore fans will know all this and more, and will just enjoy the trailer.

Johnny Depp Mad Hatter

For those that aren’t aware, Tim Burton has an upcoming remake of the classic tale of Alice in Wonderland. This merry (yet sordid) tale will feature Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the Queen of Hearts, and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, just to name a few.
