Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol Trailer
Jul 2011The first look at the new Mission: Impossible 4 movie, though interestingly enough they aren’t exactly calling it that, instead opting to call this the “Ghost Protocol.” I will warn you that there may be some spoilers, as they always tend to throw in too much information than they need to in these trailers nowadays.

IP Man – Watch it!
Jun 2011
IP Man
For those that haven’t had the opportunity, I highly recommend you take a chance on IP Man. It’s the perfect blend of kung fu action, strong characters, and engaging story telling. Plus it’s a nice break from the over-CG’d movie landscape of the Thor’s and Green Lanterns of the world.
What else would you expect from a biopic of the real life mentor of Bruce Lee? Catch it now on Netflix streaming or at Amazon.com.

Superman Reboot: Artists Rendition of Henry Cavill as Man of Steel
Jun 2011
Henry Cavill as Superman - Man of Steel
By now I’m sure most have heard about the Superman Reboot that’s in the works with Zach Snyder (director of Watchmen) and Chris Nolan (director of the highly successful Batman movies).
There has also been confirmation that the role of Superman has been cast in favor of Henry Cavill (known from his roles on the Showtime series The Tudors).
The image above is just an artist rendition of what Mr. Cavill would potentially look like in the red and blue. You’ll notice that he bares a striking resemblance the Christopher Reeves Superman (in particular his hair).
What he will actually look like we won’t know until filming begins, but make sure to stay tuned to FavoriteHero.com for all the Superman updates!

New Green Lantern Trailer
Dec 2010The launch trailer for Green Lantern is now out, and there are some mixed reviews. On one hand we have the opportunity to see what could be the start of another great super hero movie series. On the other hand, that guy is Van Wilder right??

Iron Man 2 – Faux Promotional Websites
Apr 2010
In an effort to create more buzz for the upcoming launch of Iron Man 2, Paramount Studios has released a number of faux promotional websites that are directly linked to the movie. Starting with Stark Expo 2010, which appears to be a fictional technology expo featuring the upcoming technologies compliments of Tony Stark (aka Iron Man).
The second site is Accutech, which appears to be a subsidiary of Stark Industries and specializes in the technology that makes Iron Man possible.
Here’s the sad part… These sites actually look legitimate and are probably better designed than the real companies that they are designed to imitate!

Big Apple Comicon 2009
Oct 2009
Wow, what a great weekend. Filled with movie stars, famous artists, upcoming game previews and anything else you could want (assuming you have a single nerd bone in your body).
Stars ranging from Billy Dee Williams to Thomas Jayne were in attendance giving photo ops and autographs, while in the artists alley, you can get autographs of prints or even custom Comic covers or artwork drawn on the spot for you.
We have a number of picks to give a little taste of the Big Apple Comicon ’09 after the jump!

Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter
Jun 2009
Johnny Depp Mad Hatter
For those that aren’t aware, Tim Burton has an upcoming remake of the classic tale of Alice in Wonderland. This merry (yet sordid) tale will feature Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the Queen of Hearts, and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, just to name a few. See more pictures after the jump.

Latest Terminator Salvation Trailer… Hella Cool
Mar 2009For those salivating at the idea of the new Terminator movie starring Christian “don’t call me psycho” Bale, here is the latest trailer with all kinds of destructive cyborg goodness. We’re hoping this one tides you guys over until it hits theaters May 19th, but we’re not betting on it.

Thundercats Movie Trailer (Fan-made)
Dec 2008Here’s a great fan-made trail for our beloved 80′s cartoon, Thundercats. It features some pretty swell CG overlay on what appears to be Vin Diesel in the Chronicles of Riddick.
Thanks for passing along Dom.

Max Payne Movie Starring… Markie Mark?

Iron Man Origami
Jun 2008Our friends over at Gizmodo released some cool pics of these origami creations from a very talented Brian Chan. Apparently he did all this using one piece of paper, and managed to do it without killing any terrorists.
**Update** Our guy Brian Chan is back at it again, with yet another fantastic origami creation, but this time of the soon to be pixar hit, Wall-E. And for those that don’t believe he used a single sheet of paper, Giz even has a folding patterns used to create it. We double-dog dare anyone to give it a go…

Star Wars (Imperial March) off Floppy Disk
Jun 2008Just caught this movie link of the Star Wars Imperial March being played off what appears to be a 3.5 inch floppy disk (it pains me that I need to put a Wiki link here for this). Not quite sure how this thing is setup or manages to play music, but the geek inside of me is impressed.
Thanks for the link Cava.

2008 Wizard World Philadelphia
Jun 2008We’ve finally wrapped up our weekend at Wizard World here in Philadelphia. Come check out some of the pics we grabbed while we were there after the jump!

Iron Man Crushes Box Office: Studio Plans Sequel
May 2008It should come as no surprise that following what was a monster opening weekend (in the neighborhood of $98.6 Million) Marvel Studios has announced plans to make an Iron Man sequel with a tentative launch date of April 2010. Those of us that stuck around until after the end credits of the movie probably saw this coming.
Coupled with a lot of fan buzz and overall good reviews, Iron Man got the summer started off on the right foot, and hopefully is an indication of what we can expect to see in the upcoming months.

New James Bond Poster – Quantum of Solace
Feb 2008Looks like Bond is back, in what figures to be a direct sequel to Casino Royal. Taking place just moments following the end of the last James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace looks to continue the theme of James Bond still learning the ropes and finding his way to the vodka martini (shaken not stirred).
Personally, I was a big fan of how the last movie ended, so picking things up right where they ended is a big plus for me. “He had his heart broken at the end of the last movie and that certainly is a spur for him in this one” stated Daniel Craig, who will reprise his role as 007 himself.
Thanks for the link Cava.

New Halo 3 Commercial
Sep 2007I just caught this new Halo 3 commercial on SportCenter. It depicts what appears to be scenes from a war where mankind is being slaughtered and dominated by their alien oppressors.
Then, at the very end there’s a glimmer of hope that only Master Chief can bring you. Couple that with some nice dramatic piano play, and you’ve got a friggin’ fantastic video game commercial.
