Johnny Depp Mad Hatter
For those that aren’t aware, Tim Burton has an upcoming remake of the classic tale of Alice in Wonderland. This merry (yet sordid) tale will feature Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the Queen of Hearts, and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, just to name a few. Here’s a great painting by Alex Ross, with Mr Barrack Obama portrayed as our quintessential super hero. We’ll see if even “Superman” can get us out of these tough economic times.

For those salivating at the idea of the new Terminator movie starring Christian “don’t call me psycho” Bale, here is the latest trailer with all kinds of destructive cyborg goodness. We’re hoping this one tides you guys over until it hits theaters May 19th, but we’re not betting on it.
Here’s a great fan-made trail for our beloved 80’s cartoon, Thundercats. It features some pretty swell CG overlay on what appears to be Vin Diesel in the Chronicles of Riddick.

Electronica group Zombie Zombie created a rather unique music video, featuring GI Joe figures to recreate John Carpenter’s classic sci-fi thriller, The Thing. An amusing 6 1/2 minutes of Robot Chickenish toy play, especially for fans of the original flick.

Terminator Salvation Movie Poster
Here’s a first look at the upcoming Terminator Salvation movie poster. The first look we had at the opening preview last week is going to make the wait until 2009 a tough one.
Another great trailer that premiered this weekend with the release of the Dark Knight was that of the upcoming Watchmen Movie trailer. We at FH were already looking forward to the Alan Moore adapted graphic novel that inspired the film, but the new trailer (especially with the Smashing Pumpkins soundtrack) has added a whole new level of excitement.
And for those that may not have noticed it, that Smashing Pumpkins song (The Beginning is the End is the Beginning) was ironically made originally for that very forgettable Batman and Robin movie from a few years back.

Just caught this new Terminator movie trailer while watching the new Batman Dark Knight flick this past week. And yes, that’s Christian Bale playing the starring role as John Connor, the predestined savior of mankind set to the backdrop James Cameron’s post apocalyptic vision.
Which brings up the next great question, how can one man be so lucky to be both Batman and John Connor? Do you think him and Shia Labeouf have secret meetings deciding which of them will play a prominent role in some of the coolest sequels/remakes of the decade?
Although, picturing Christian Bale as the savior of mankind seems much more likely than that whiny Ed Furlong in T2: Judgment Day.
Just noticed the re-release of the classic line from Hasbro which are very well made. For any fan of the series but doesnt want some thrown together crap like some of the movie toys, I suggest the classic line. This is called “Transformers Universe Classic Deluxe and Ultra Wave 1″. I hope to see more of this line released in the future.
Seems like its confirmed that the Xbox 360 is getting a price drop on its Pro Model from 350 to 300. Although there have been rumors that they are putting the price drop on the the 20 gig systems to sell the stock of that to make room for the newer 60 gig that they will probably announce at E3.
Just as a side note, Im not sure whats more irritating for the current generation of systems, the constant rehashes(xbox, playstation), the fake shortages(nintendo, although it could just be really good quality control), 1 in 3 failiure rate (microsoft), or the lack of good 3rd party support (nintendo). And the worst of it is that they can do it all cause they know im gonna have all the systems eventually anyway.
Our friends over at Gizmodo released some cool pics of these origami creations from a very talented Brian Chan. Apparently he did all this using one piece of paper, and managed to do it without killing any terrorists.
**Update** Our guy Brian Chan is back at it again, with yet another fantastic origami creation, but this time of the soon to be pixar hit, Wall-E. And for those that don’t believe he used a single sheet of paper, Giz even has a folding patterns used to create it. We double-dog dare anyone to give it a go…
Just caught this movie link of the Star Wars Imperial March being played off what appears to be a 3.5 inch floppy disk (it pains me that I need to put a Wiki link here for this). Not quite sure how this thing is setup or manages to play music, but the geek inside of me is impressed.

Our friends over at Gizmodo are confirming that the name for the Transformers Movie sequel will be Revenge for the Fallen.
Yet another movie sequel title where someone’s got to get revenge for something that happened in the original film for whatever reason. Rumor has it that the third installment of the original Star Wars trilogy was to be named Revenge of the Jedi, but got changed to give it less of a negative spin (silly Lucas, Jedi don’t get revenge!)
No pics on the new movie posters yet, but we’ll post those up as soon as Michael Bay decides which robotic eyeball he wants to zoom in on. Stay tuned to FavoriteHero for future updates.
Wizard World 2008 Philadelphia
We’ve finally wrapped up our weekend at Wizard World here in Philadelphia. Come check out some of the pics we grabbed while we were there after the jump!
We at FH were big fans of Hellboy back during his comic book days and thought the movie adaptation was quite entertaining. That’s why we were excited to hear about the upcoming sequel, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. Plus, Selma Blair is easy on the eyes and a nice contrast to the ugly baddies (and goodies) throughout the hell-ridden universe.

Batman Gotham Knight
Wizard Universe just issued a press release acknowledging that they will have the fortune of premiering the new upcoming Batman animated movie, Batman Gotham Knight, at their Wizard World Chicago conference in June.
For those that aren’t “in the know,” Warner Brothers is releasing a new animated movie bridging the gap between the last Batman Begins movie, and the upcoming Batman Dark Knight flick. Animation appears to be based on Japanese Anime stylings, which should be a nice change of pace from their older animated iterations.
The movie will premier on the evening of June 28th for those in the Chicago area that plan on attending the show. Unfortunately, your pals at FavoriteHero.com are currently attending the Philadelphia Wizard World and probably won’t be able to make the trip to Chi-town later this month.

According to Wizard Magazines, Robert Downey Jr is being approached to play the part of the legendary porn mogul, Hugh Hefner in an upcoming movie about his life. Apparently Hugh himself thought that the role could be pulled off by Downey after seeing him play the part of Billionaire Playboy Tony Stark in the last Iron Man movie.
Of course, everything is still up in the air as Downey has yet to read the script and will likely decline the part if it’s about as entertaining the Playboy’s recent profit margins. More to come at FH as things to develop.
If you haven’t heard already, Lucas is bringing a new CG Star Wars television series, which took its roots from the animated series on the Cartoon Network back in 2003. As with that series, the premise of the show is to bridge the gap between the second and third episodes and will encompass over a hundred 22 minute episodes according to George.

We just got wind of this new X-Files movie trailer that just hit YouTube this week. At first it appears to be just another serial killer/murder mystery possibly starring Morgan Freeman or Ashley Judd, but out of nowhere you hear that little X-Files jingle that hasn’t been heard on the big or small screen in years.
The initial trailer doesn’t appear to have a bunch of UFO’s flying around, but we hope to get a better peak in the upcoming weeks of what we can expect. Fans of the show should be happy to see the Scully-Mulder
dynamic duo back in action.
